Lord Jesus, on this day we pray for animals, birds and other living creatures that You created to give us joy. We pray that these are protected and not abused. Forgive us Lord for the way we have hurt the living things around the world. A special prayer for our pets, who bring us happiness. May us human beings learn to respect and love life – all creatures that You created. Amen.

ஆண்டவரின் திருச்சட்டம் நமக்கு அனைத்து காரியங்களையும் போதித்து வழிநடத்துகிறது. அதனால்தான் அதின் வழியில் நடப்போர் பேறுபெற்றோர் ஆகிறார்கள். அவரின் திருச்சட்டம் நமக்கு கடினமான காரியத்தை சொல்லவில்லை. அது முழுதும் அன்பின் வழியாகவும், ஒழுக்கத்தின் வழியாகவும் உள்ளது. ஆண்டவரின் ஒழுங்குமுறைகளை கடைப்பிடித்து அநீதி செய்யாமல் அவரின் கட்டளைகளை எல்லாம் கடைப்பிடித்து நடந்தோமானால் நம்மை ஒருபோதும் கைவிடமாட்டார். ஆபிரகாம் ஆண்டவரில் முழுதும் நம்பிக்கை வைத்து தமது விசுவாசத்தை காத்துக்கொண்டார். யாக்கோபு ஆண்டவருக்கு பொருத்தனை செய்தபடி தனக்கு கிடைத்த எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகம் ஆண்டவருக்கு அளித்து தமது நீதியை நிலைநாட்டினார். யோசேப்பு தான் வாலிபவயதிலும் பொல்லாப்புக்கு விலகி ஆண்டவருக்கு பயந்து நடந்தார். மோசே பார்வோன் அரண்மனையில் வளர்ந்தாலும் அந்நிய தெய்வமான எகிப்தின் சிலை வழிப்பாட்டுக்கு விலகி தமது மக்களோடு சேர்ந்து பாடுகள் அனுபவித்தாலும் ஆண்டவரின் ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தைக்கும் கீழ்படிந்து அவரின் சிநேகதரானார். எஸ்தர் தன்னுடைய இன மக்கள் அழிந்து போகாதவாறு மூன்று நாள் பகலும், இரவும் உபவாசம் இருந்து தம் மக்களை மீட்க தமது உயிரை பணயம்...
