இயேசு பரிசேயரையும் மறைநூல் அறிஞரையும் மிகக் கடுமையாகக் கண்டித்துப் பேசிய பகுதி (காண்க: லூக்கா 11:37-54) பல உண்மைகளை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. ”ஐயோ! உங்களுக்குக் கேடு!” என்று இயேசு கூறுவது இயேசுவின் சாந்தமான குணத்திற்கு நேர்மாறாக இருப்பதுபோல் தோன்றலாம். ஆனால், இயேசு கண்டிப்பது அக்கால சமய, மற்றும் சமூகத் தலைவர்களிடம் காணப்பட்ட குறைகளை மட்டுமல்ல, மாறாக அவர்களிடமிருந்து எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட நேரிய நடத்தை என்னவென்பதையும் இயேசு உணர்த்துகிறார். அதே நேரத்தில், இயேசு கண்டித்த குறைகளும் அவர் போற்றியுரைத்த நடத்தையும் இன்று வாழ்கின்ற நமக்கும் பொருந்தும். தாமும் நுழையாமல் பிறரையும் நுழையவிடால் செயல்படுவது எதைக் குறிக்கிறது? வீட்டு வாசலில் ஒருவர் நிற்கிறார் என வைத்துக்கொள்வோம். ஒன்றில் அவர் வீட்டுக்குள் நுழைய வேண்டும் அல்லது வாயிலை அடைத்துக்கொண்டு நிற்காமல் அங்கிருந்து வெளியேறிட வேண்டும். அப்போது வீட்டுக்குள் பிறர் நுழைய முடியும். இதையே இயேசு ஓர் உருவகமாகக் கொண்டு இறையாட்சி பற்றிய ஆழ்ந்த உண்மையை விளக்குகிறார். நுழைதலும் நுழையவிடுதலும்...

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You, all the parents across the world. Lord, we pray that we can rest in Your presence daily and fervently, before we venture into another day of rigorous struggle – directing the paths of our little ones. We pray first of all that they will be so connected to You, as they walk their daily walk. Remember them and us with mercy daily, God, even when we fumble. Grant us Your wisdom and immense grace, to glean insights into their lives, love them like You do, understand them well and guide them the right...

சில கிறிஸ்தவ சபைகளில் ”பத்திலொரு பங்கைக் காணிக்கையாகப் படைக்கின்ற” வழக்கம் உண்டு. இதற்கு அடிப்படை லேவியர் நூலில் உள்ளது: ”நிலத்தின் தானியங்களிலும், மரங்களின் கனிகளிலும் பத்திலொன்று ஆண்டவருக்குரியது” (லேவி 27:30). கடவுளிடமிருந்து நாம் அனைத்தையுமே கொடையாகப் பெறுகின்றோம். எனவே, கடவுளுக்கென நாம் ஒரு பகுதியைக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொடுப்பது பொருத்தமே. இயேசு அக்காலத்தில் நிலவிய இப்பழக்கத்தைக் கண்டித்தார் என்பதற்கில்லை. மாறாக, கடவுளுக்குக் காணிக்கை கொடுக்கிறோம் என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு, உண்மையிலேயே ஏழைகளைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படாமல், கடவுளின் அன்பில் நிலைத்திராமல் வாழ்வது முன்னுக்குப்பின்முரணாக உள்ளது என்பதை இயேசு சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறார் (லூக்கா 11:42). கடவுளுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுகின்ற காணிக்கை கடவுளின் புகழுக்காகவும், கடவுளின் சாயலாக உருவாக்கப்பட்ட மனிதரின் நலனுக்காகவும் பயன்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதை எல்லாரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வர். எனினும், பத்திலொரு பங்கைக் காணிக்கையாக்க வேண்டும் என்று மக்களைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்துவது சரியல்ல. கட்டாயத்தின் அடிப்படையில் வழங்கப்படுவது உண்மையான கொடை என்று சொல்ல முடியாது. உளமார உவந்து வழங்குவதே உண்மையான கொடை, அன்பளிப்பு....
