Today, we pray for those facing death

Lord Jesus, we surrender to You each man, woman and child, who is facing death today. We pray that Your Spirit strengthens and calms them, when they enter the valley of death. May each one of them receive the grace to know Your presence, the comfort of Your angels and have a peaceful death. Give Your grace to those who are holding them and grieving, when they cross the barrier. May none of our dear ones die violent or untimely deaths and may we never have to face death in fear or in loneliness, without someone holding our hands. Amen.

நெருப்பு பல விதங்களில் நமக்குப் பயன்படுகிறது. உணவு சமைப்பதற்கு நெருப்பு உதவுகிறது. குளிர் காலத்தில் நெருப்பின் அருகே அமர்ந்து குளிர்காய்வது இதமான அனுபவம். அழுக்குகளைச் சுட்டெரித்து அழிப்பதற்கும் நெருப்பு பயன்படுகிறது. அதே நேரத்தில் நெருப்பு அழிவுக்கும் காரணமாகலாம். கலவரங்கள் ஏற்படும்போது வீடுகளுக்கும் ஊர்களுக்கும் தீவைத்து அழிக்கின்ற செயல்கள் இப்போதும் நடந்துவருவது ஒரு கசப்பான அனுபவம். இயற்கையாகவோ மனிதரின் கவனக்குறைவாலோ காடுகளில் தீ எரிந்து பெரும் அழிவு ஏற்படுவதும் உண்டு. இவ்வாறு ஆக்கவும் அழிக்கவும் பயன்படுகின்ற தீயை மூட்டிவிட இயேசு வந்தார் என்றால் அதை நாம் எப்படிப் புரிந்துகொள்வது? இயேசுவின் உள்ளத்தில் ஒரு தீ எரிந்துகொண்டிருந்தது. அதுதான் கடவுள் தம்மிடம் ஒப்படைத்த பணியை முழுமையாக நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டும் என்னும் தணியாத ஆர்வம். இந்த ஆர்வத்தால் உந்தப்பட்ட இயேசு இவ்வுலகத்தில் மனித உள்ளங்களில் ஒரு தீயை மூட்டிட வந்தார். கடவுளின் ஆட்சியை இவ்வுலகில் கொணரவேண்டும் என்னும் ஆர்வம்தான் இயேசுவின் போதனைக்கும் செயல்பாட்டுக்கும் உந்துசக்தியாக அமைந்தது....

Lord Jesus, we bring to You those who have really reached the end of their tether. For those of us who want to give up on our faith, church-going, family life, relationships, work, friendships, ministry or any other task entrusted to us. We lift each one of us today to Your Presence in a special way, for that anointing and grace which only You can give. Send us angels to help us, Lord.
