புனிதர்களுக்கு நாம் அனைவரும் சிறப்பாக விழா எடுக்கிறோம். அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்த மிகச்சிறந்த தியாக வாழ்விற்காக, எந்த தருணத்திலும் கடவுளைப் பற்றிப்பிடித்துக்கொண்ட அந்த உறுதியான விசுவாசத்தை எண்ணிப்பார்த்து, நாம் இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறோம். அதேவேளையில் அவர்களிடம் நாம் மன்றாடுகிறோம். எதற்காக புனிதர்களிடம் செபிக்க வேண்டும்? நமக்குத் தேவையென்றால் நாம் தானே செபிக்க வேண்டும்? நமது விசுவாசத்திற்குத்தானே கடவுள் பதில் கொடுப்பார்? அப்படியென்றால், புனிதர்களிடம் “எங்களுக்காக வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்“ என்று எதற்காகச் செபிக்கிறோம்? இந்த கேள்வி நிச்சயம் நம் அனைவரின் உள்ளத்திலும் எழும். இந்த கேள்விக்கான பதிலாக அமைவது தான், இன்றைய நற்செய்திப்பகுதி. இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் (லூக்கா 5: 17-26) முடக்குவாதமுற்ற மனிதன் ஒருவனை அவனுயை நண்பர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் கொண்டு வருகிறார்கள். இங்கே முடக்குவாதமுற்ற மனிதன் பேசக்கூடிய நிலையிலும் இல்லை. அவனிடத்திலே விசுவாசம் இருந்ததாகவும் சொல்லப்படவில்லை. ஆனால், அவன் அங்கு வந்தது அவனுடைய நலம்விரும்பிகளின் விசுவாசத்தால். முடக்குவாதமுற்ற மனிதனை, இயேசுவிடம் கொண்டு சென்றால், நிச்சயம் குணம்பெறுவான்,...
