“O my God, rescue me from the hand of the wicked.” –Psalm 71:4 The Lord rescues His people by creating new people. Samson (Jgs 13:24) and John the Baptizer (Lk 1:24) from today’s readings are examples of this. However, our Western society is a “culture of death.” It doesn’t want many new people. The men, women and children we do not know, but who are all opportunities You provide for us to share Your love. A special prayers for dear ones who have now become like strangers to us – estranged from us and our families. May each person we meet see Christ in us. அவருக்கு இயேசு என்று பெயரிடுவீர். ஏனெனில் அவர் தம் மக்களை அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களிலிருந்து மீட்பார் என்பது வானதூதரின் செய்தி. இயேசு என்னும் பெயருக்கு மீட்பர் என்பது பொருள். இயேசு நம்மைப் பாவங்களிலிருந்து மீட்பவர் என்பதே அவரது பெயரின் பொருள். கிறிஸ்துமஸ் விழா தரும் செய்தியும் இதுவே. அவர் நம்மைப் பாவங்களிலிருந்து மீட்பார், விடுவிப்பார். நமது பாவங்களிலிருந்து நாம் நமது சொந்த முயற்சியினால் விடுதலை பெற முடியாது. நமது இயல்பே பாவம் செய்வதற்கேற்ற இயல்பாக அமைந்திருப்பதால், நமது சொந்த ஆற்றலால் விடுதலை பெறவும் இயலாது. எனவே, இயேசுவின் அருளை நாடுகிறோம். அவரது மீட்புக்காக வேண்டுகிறோம். இந்தக் கிறிஸ்து பிறப்பு விழாவின்போது, நமது வாழ்வில் அவரது மீட்பு நிறைவாகக் கிடைக்க வேண்டுமென்று சிறப்பாக மன்றாடுவோம். மன்றாடுவோம்: மீட்பு வழங்கும் நாயகனாம் இயேசுவே, எங்களைப் பாவத்திலிருந்தும், தீமைகள் அனைத்திலிருந்தும் விடுவிக்க வந்தீரே, உம்மைப் Nபுhற்றுகிறோம். உமது மீட்பு இந்த அருளின் காலத்தில் எம்மீது நிறைவாய் இறங்குவதாக....
