“Hannah was childless.” –1 Samuel 1:2 “Hannah would weep and refuse to eat” (1 Sm 1:7). Bearing a child meant more to her than anything else in the world. We too should weep and fast for any lack of spiritual fruitfulness in our lives. If last year we only led fifty people to new life in Jesus when we had the opportunity to be more fruitful, we should weep and fast. “Those that sow in tears will reap in joy” (Ps 126:5, our transl). Lord Jesus. today we bring to the foot of Your cross all our brothers and sisters who are tied to their beds. We pray that Your Holy Spirit brings strength back to their limbs and that they rise and walk. We believe that by Your stripes they are healed. Lord, help us in our unbelief any time we waver. We also pray for the ones waiting on these friends, that they may get Your courage to serve better and serve in love. Be with them in their low points and highs. Amen.

இன்று ஆண்டவரின் திருமுழுக்குப் பெருவிழா. இயேசு திருமுழுக்கு பெற்றுத் தன் பணிவாழ்வைத் தொடங்கிய நாள். அந்தப் பணியைத் தொடங்கும் வேளையில் இயேசுவின்மேல் இன்று ஆண்டவரின் திருமுழுக்குப் பெருவிழா. இயேசு திருமுழுக்கு பெற்றுத் தன் பணிவாழ்வைத் தொடங்கிய நாள். அந்தப் பணியைத் தொடங்கும் வேளையில் இயேசுவின்மேல் தூய ஆவி புறா வடிவில் இறங்கினார். வானத்திலிருந்து “என் அன்பார்ந்த மகன் நீயே. உன் பொருட்டு நான் பூரிப்படைகிறேன் ” என்று தந்தையின் குரல் கேட்டது. இந்த இரு நிகழ்வுகளும் நமக்குத் தருகின்ற செய்தி: 1. நமது பணியை ஆற்றுவதற்கு தூய ஆவியின் துணை வேண்டும். அவரது அருள்கர ஆற்றலின்றி நமது பணி வெற்றியடைய முடியாது. 2. தந்தை இறைவனை மகிழ்ச்சிப்படுத்துவதே நமது பணியின், வாழ்வின் நோக்கமாக இருக்கவேண்டும். அதற்கு முதல்கட்டமாக, தந்தை இறைவனோடு நாம் நெருங்கிய உறவு கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும். அதற்கான அருளை இன்று மன்றாடுவோம். மன்றாடுவோம்: அன்புத் தந்தையே இறைவா, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறோம். இயேசுவை...

“The people were full of anticipation.” –Luke 3:15 Many people expected John the Baptizer to be the Messiah (Lk 3:15). Their expectations for a Messiah were too low because Jesus, “Who is mightier” than John, is the Messiah (Lk 3:16). Peter had seen God work through him to raise Tabitha from the dead (Acts 9:40).
