Today, we pray for the healing of our addiction to TV

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the hypnotic attachment the world today has to television-watching. We pray especially for homes where even family prayer has been replaced by incessant sitcom-watching. May the attention of our young not be captured or corrupted by anything vulgar or offensive. Protect what we watch and wash it with Your Precious Blood. Our families should be spending time with You and with each other daily, rather than being cooped up in front of the TV. Give us the strong will and the grace for it, Lord Jesus. Amen.

இயேசு இறையாட்சியின் இயல்புகளைப் பற்றி இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் விளக்க முற்படுகிறார். இறையாட்சி என்பது, கடவுளின் அரசு விண்ணகத்தில் செயல்படுவது போல, இந்த மண்ணகத்திலும் செயல்படுவதாகும். படைப்பு அனைத்திற்குமான கடவுளின் இலக்கு இதுதான். இந்த இறையாட்சி தத்துவத்தை, விதை வளர்ந்து மரமாகக்கூடிய நிகழ்வோடு ஒப்பிடுகிறார். ஒரு விவசாயி நிலத்தில் விதைகளைத் தூவுகிறார். அதைப் பேணிப் பராமரிக்கிறார். அதாவது, அதற்கு தண்ணீர் பாய்க்கிறார். நேரத்திற்கு உரமிடுகிறார். பூச்சிகளிடமிருந்து பாதுகாக்கிறார். இவ்வளவு செய்தாலும், விதை எப்படி வளர்கிறது? எப்போது வளர்கிறது? என்பது அவருக்குத் தெரியாது. நேற்றைய நாளை விட, இன்றைக்கு வளர்ந்திருப்பதை பார்த்துதான், விவசாயி, அது சரியான வளர்ச்சியில் இருக்கிறது என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்கிறார். ஏனென்றால், விதைத்தது விவசாயி என்றாலும், அதனைப் பேணிக்காக்கிறவர், அதற்கு வாழ்வு கொடுக்கிறவர் கடவுள் தான். அதுபோல, வாழ்வில் நடப்பதன் நிகழ்வு அனைத்திலும், கடவுளின் அருட்கரம் தங்கியிருக்கிறது என்பதை, நாம் உணர வேண்டும். கடவுளின் வல்ல செயல்களை நாம் உடனடியாக உணர முடியாது....
