A kingdom of priests…
Revelation 1:4-6
4 John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne; 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood; 6 and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (WEB)
Jesus is amazing! What He has done for us will take an eternity for us to comprehend. Because of His great love, He has washed away every one of our sins by the shedding of His precious blood. He is the faithful witness, the firstborn, and the King of kings and Lord of lords.
It is Jesus, our elder brother, who has made us to be a Kingdom of priests so that we can minister to His God and Father forever! What a glorious inheritance! What an everlasting promise of eternal bliss! Ministering in the courts of our God and our Father forever and ever.
I know that we cannot grasp what this will be like with our earthly limitations, but my prayer today is that this promise would give us hope for the future. No matter what our standing is in life, our destiny is to be a Kingdom of priests to our God and Father. Whether we are rich or poor, strong or weak, wise or lowly, we all have the same destiny.
May the Spirit of the living God that dwells within our hearts help us to grasp what it will be like to minister alongside of our Firstborn brother in the courts of our God and Father.
Galatians 4:4-7
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children. And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
