Be Content

A married couple in their early 60s, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant. Suddenly a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table. She said `For being such an exemplary married couple and for being in loving each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.’

The wife answered `Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband.’ The fairy waved her magic wand and – poof – two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: `Well, this is all very romantic; but an opportunity like this will never come again. I’m sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.’ The wife and the fairy, were deeply disappointed but a wish is a wish.

So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof …….. the husband became 92 years old.

We must not be greedy instead we should be content with what we have because the bible says

“A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.” Proverbs 28:25

Let us thank God for what he has given us “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! “2 Corinthians 9:15

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses. Luke 12:15
